Rachel Daly, Chloe Kelly, Ella Toone and Jess Park were all on target in a 4-0 win as England dispatched of former world champions Japan in style at the Pinatar Arena, further strengthening their position as one of the favourites for next year’s World Cup.
Debutant Park, on from the substitutes bench, rounded off the scoring late on to put the gloss on a thoroughly ruthless attacking display, as Sarina Wiegman extended her unbeaten reign as manager to 25 games.
Daly broke the deadlock in the 38th minute, capitalising on some brilliant wing play from Kelly, before side-footing beyond Yamashita.
Kelly was then rewarded for all her impressive first-half endeavour, doubling her side’s advantage in the 53rd minute after latching onto Mead’s delivery at the back post.
Toone fired the Lionesses into an emphatic three goal lead in the 77th minute, before Park marked her international bow with a stoppage time strike to compound a thoroughly miserable night for Japan.
