Liverpool have approached Crystal Palace over potentially signing winger Ismaila Sarr.

Andoni Iraola’s side are considering their options after talks stalled with Brighton over Yankuba Minteh.

Sarr is one of the players Liverpool are exploring as they look to reinforce out wide.

Palace have no intention of letting Sarr go at this stage and consider the 28-year-old to be not for sale. He has three years left on his contract.

Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage provides a transfer update on Jean-Philippe Mateta and Ismaila Sarr and says he expects both of them to stay at the club

Sarr missed Palace’s opening weekend defeat at Everton. Reports claimed he was refusing to train but it is understood that the winger is currently injured.

Asked about Sarr’s future during his press conference on Wednesday, Palace boss Pierre Sage said: “I understand for everybody that to have this kind of contact is difficult because you hesitate a lot, but for the moment he is with us.

“He is under contract, he is injured, and maybe you can link his injury and the situation.

“But for me, he is honest, and I have no problem with that. I spoke with him this morning about that. Yesterday about that too, and we just want him on the pitch, and all the rest for the other people”

PSG’s Bradley Barcola is Liverpool’s main target but there is a possibility that Liverpool sign more than one winger.

Cody Gakpo is the subject of interest from Tottenham and Manchester City. Liverpool are not open to selling the Dutchman as things stand and would need two wingers to be signed if he did depart.

Brighton have rejected a bid from Liverpool for Yankuba Minteh

Liverpool’s talks with Brighton for Minteh are not progressing as things stand.

Brighton are holding out for £80m after rejecting two bids from Liverpool. The latest offer from Andoni Iraola’s side was worth £60m.

Liverpool are currently unwilling to reach that figure for Minteh, who is injured and expected to be out until October.
