George Arias has announced himself as one of the “best rising heavyweights” with a “breakout win” and could now target a British rival, says co-promoter Dmitriy Salita.
The New York based fighter has boosted his growing reputation with a career-best win over previously unbeaten contender Cassius Chaney this month.
Arias, who is co-promoted by Salita and Lou DiBella, sealed a points win over Chaney as he extended his own perfect record to 17 victories.
“It was definitely a breakout win,” Salita told Sky Sports. “George has shown his desire to challenge himself and fight the best available fighters.
“With the win, he has shown that he is one of the best rising heavyweights in the world.

“Sitting ringside I was impressed with George’s athleticism, speed and ability to fight at a high pace from the first to the 10th round.
“Up on his toes, bouncing and keeping the pressure on Chaney, not only with his hands, but with his footwork.”
Speaking earlier this year, Arias had told Sky Sports that he would welcome a fight in Britain.
“I’ll fight anyone, from the UK or anywhere,” Arias told Sky Sports. “It would be an honour to fight in the UK.”
Hughie Fury is currently awaiting confirmation of his next opponent and Arias could be open to a fight against the former world title challenger, who is ranked at No 4 by the WBA.
“George wants to fight the best fighters in the world,” said Salita. “A fight with Fury can be very interesting.”
Bringing a world title back to his home country of the Dominican Republic is the ultimate ambition for Arias.
“Coming from New York, you get a lot of support,” he has told Sky Sports. “New York brings a lot of buzz and your name will get out there sooner.
“To be the first Dominican heavyweight champion of the world. That is the main objective in my career.”
Salita is confident that interest in Arias will be enhanced as he continues to produce impressive wins in the top weight class.
“George definitely has the ingredients and the story to form a relationship with boxing fans worldwide and to be a name in the heavyweight division,” he said.
“The beginning of his boxing journey at the Morris Park boxing gym in the Bronx, winning the Golden Gloves at Madison Square Garden, and now graduating from prospect to contender is a very interesting one and will grow with his victories inside the ring.”
