4.37 Ffos Las – Narrjoo headlines following promising debut
Narrjoo headlines a field of seven in the Meyer Timber EBF Maiden Stakes.
Simon and Ed Crisford’s representative finished second to exciting Godolphin newcomer Jassas when impressing on debut at Doncaster last month and will be tough to beat if he can run to the same standard. This 200,000gns son of Ten Sovereigns has future entries in the Champagne Stakes and Goffs Million, which indicate how highly he is thought of at Gainsborough Stables.
Drum Bay and Isabella de Vega both similarly caught the eye on their respective debuts, and should provide a good level of opposition to Narrjoo for Ralph Beckett and Ed Walker respectively.
The most intriguing newcomer comes in the form of the 200,000gns two-year-old Mehmas colt Engraved, who could run well first time up for the James Fanshawe team.
3.37 Ffos Las – No Half Measures’ half-sister clashes with Eskimo Pie
Eskimo Pie seeks her first success in the Faucets The Bathroom Specialists Maiden Fillies’ Stakes but will have to get past No Half Measures’ half-sister Mystic Veil, who makes her debut.
Eskimo Pie finished a good seventh in the 2025 Queen Mary Stakes before running lame on her final start at two in the Princess Margaret. Her first start at three was promising, but she subsequently underperformed in her next two tries. She was bumped when looking to challenge at Newmarket the last day and very much sets the standard at her peak for the Jane Chapple-Hyam team.
The Ed Walker-trained Mollstar showed a respectable level of form on her third run before being found reportedly lame after her last start in December. Returning from a break here, this filly is an interesting contender under Ashley Lewis.
Mystic Veil is a half-sister to July Cup winner No Half Measures and is trained by Archie Watson – a handler renowned for his success with two-year-olds. She could very well succeed on her first outing and a market watch is essential in the build-up.
Dixie Blue – a daughter of Starspangledbanner – also makes her first start, while Livvy’s Edge completes the quintet.
6.10 Ffos Las – Belle Of Kt bids for another success
Belle Of Kt bids for a hat-trick in the Dress For The Occasions Handicap, wish closes the card at the Welsh track.
The admirably consistent mare has found some improvement of late, putting a couple of wins together within the space of eight days. She did not seem to have loads in hand last time out when scoring by a nose, but should put up a bold effort when attempting a hat-trick, with Millie Wonnacott’s 5lb claim potentially crucial.
A Daughters Love should prove tough to beat following a facile 10-length victory when bouncing back to form down in grade last time out. She clearly enjoys this course and distance but has been raised 6lb for that victory.
Noble Grace also won over course and distance just two weeks ago, yet in contrasting fashion, battling well in a terrific finish.
