4.00 Sedgefield – Skelton’s in-form Loriko headlines
Dan Skelton’s in-form Loriko tops five runners for the feature Sedgefield Racecourse For Outdoor Events Handicap Hurdle.
Loriko has shown improved form this season, winning three of his five starts, including when narrowly landing a novice hurdle at Market Rasen last month. He looks to have strong claims as he steps up in trip on this switch to handicap company.
Ladies Day has taken well to hurdling and Tom Ellis’ five-year-old looks an obvious threat. She travelled well when fading into fourth at Cartmel and might appreciate the extra yardage here.
Glory And Honour showed he still retains all his ability when just denied here last time and rates the pick of the remainder.
5.05 Sedgefield – Saint Polo and Pergamon clash
Progressive pair Saint Polo and Pergamon do battle in a cracking renewal of this Whitegates Nursery Northallerton Handicap Hurdle at Sedgefield.
The Jennie Candlish-trained Saint Polo returned from a break to complete the hat-trick at this venue last month taking his record to three wins from four stars with cheekpieces fitted. Up another three pounds, he can go close under Luke Scott.
Pergamon is another who arrives in super form having scored on his last three starts over hurdles. He has now won five of his eight outings over jumps and must be feared providing the ground remains on the good side.
King Ulanda capitalised on a lower hurdles mark when taking a Uttoxeter handicap back in July and is another to consider.
3.00 Sedgefield – Last-time winners Glenmalure Flyer and Limerick Leader headline
Last-time winners Glenmalure Flyer and Limerick Leader headline a field of Christmas Parties At Sedgefield Racecourse Handicap Chase at Sedgefield.
Glenmalure Flyer has landed two of his three runs since joining Dan Skelton from David Nagle and looks to have an excellent chance of following up his recent Stratford success. He relishes a strong stamina test and might be able to dominate this small field.
Nick Scholfield’s Limerick Leader doubled his tally over fences when landing a three-mile handicap chase at Bangor but will need to show he can back that up with the longer distance a concern.
Sir Carnegie and Thank You Blue complete the quartet.
Best of the rest
11.17 Kentucky Downs – Listed Juvenile Mile – Joseph O’Brien fields Otherworldly and One Number.
11.49 Kentucky Downs – La Fogata represents Donnacha. Kentucky Belle has looked progressive.
2.00 Sedgefield – Interesting maiden hurdle to open proceedings.
